About the Work
Mixed Media
I sometimes wonder if I was born with a library card in my hand, as libraries are the source of some of my earliest and fondest memories. I had a unique opportunity to merge my interest in collage, handmade paper, and artists books with my passion for libraries when I was offered vintage catalog cards from my local public library. That day was the beginning of an ongoing project: Ex Libris: Found Art From a Public Library, an exhibition inspired by – and created from – library catalog cards. Work from this collection has been exhibited around the United States and in Europe. Pieces from the collection are in the permanent collections of Colorado College and the International Quilt Museum.
Photography
Originally a film photographer, I now explore the digital tools available and different styles of photography.
I love to teach photography. I often work as the Teaching Assistant for the Fundamentals of Digital Photography Course at Harvard Extension School.
I offer free photography workshops for public libraries, which can be online, in person, or a hybrid program.
If you are a nonprofit organization with a noble mission, and in need of a pro-bono photographer to document an event, please contact me.
